Meteorological Technology International will host an exclusive webinar, in association with Baron Weather, on May 1, 2025, titled ‘State-of-the-art weather visualization and communication in the modern world.’

Weather communication challenges

The expert speakers will delve into audiences’ changing expectations, as traditional text alerts and simplistic diagrams compete for attention against visually appealing, dynamic messages from entertainment and leisure. They’ll also look into how capturing and holding your audience’s attention requires more engaging and impactful messaging in today’s fast-paced communication landscape.

The webinar will explore the difficulty of translating complex data into clear, actionable messages. It will also address the struggle to prompt the correct action in weather situations, and the limitations of low-tech messaging, which, while easier to explain, can appear less professional and fail to compete effectively with more visually compelling content.

Additionally, attendees will learn how the advanced weather communication platform Baron Weather Lynx uses real-time, visually stunning graphics to help tell impactful weather stories quickly and effectively. Designed to reach modern audiences, Baron Weather Lynx integrates with popular social channels and supports third-party platforms like OBS for live presentations.

Meet the speakers

Jon Tarleton joined Baron Weather in 2021 as vice president of integrated weather systems. He brings over 25 years of weather and international business experience. Tarleton is a professional speaker, and his talks have focused on optimizing weather information to make operational decisions in all sorts of weather applications. He spent a lot of his time in the transportation industry, where he was one of the early business leaders developing vehicle-mounted sensor technology and its applications. Tarleton currently leads Baron’s international and government business, providing Doppler radar, numerical weather prediction and fully integrated solutions for countries developing and expanding their national weather infrastructure. Tarleton graduated from the University of Missouri–Columbia with a degree in atmospheric sciences and meteorology.

With a background in aviation electronics, Sergiy Braylyan, global business development manager (Europe, Asia, Middle East) at Baron, has more than 30 years of experience in international business development. He has held positions in corporations based in Ukraine, Switzerland and the USA. During his tenure at these companies, Braylyan built working relationships with multiple government agencies and multilateral organizations in Europe, Asia and most of Africa. Braylyan holds an undergraduate degree in business administration and economics and an MBA from the International Management Institute (IMI-Kyiv).

With a degree in atmospheric science from the University of California, Davis, and over 30 years of experience in the weather industry, Brian Bellew, global business development manager of Baron, brings a wealth of expertise across multiple sectors. His deep knowledge spans meteorological display systems, numerical weather prediction, big data and advanced radar technology. At Baron, he takes a consultative approach, fostering strong business relationships and enhancing early warning capabilities across the Pacific, South Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and global media organizations.
