There are now just two weeks to go until Meteorological Technology World Expo opens at RAI Amsterdam (October 6-8), bringing together the global meteorological community for three days of innovation, technical discussion and collaboration. The event runs alongside the World Meteorological Organization’s Technical Conference on Instruments and Methods of Observation (TECO-2026), taking place October 5-8, offering visitors the chance to explore the technologies, research and operational developments shaping the future of weather and environmental observation.
Following record attendance in 2025, this year’s event is expected to welcome thousands of professionals from national meteorological and hydrological services, research institutions, academia, aviation, hydrology, environmental monitoring organizations and technology providers from around the world, with more than 150 exhibitors and over 2,000 visitors expected.

TECO-2026 in focus
Meteorological Technology World Expo is once again hosting TECO-2026 alongside the exhibition, giving the global meteorological community the chance to exchange expertise, discover technological innovations and help shape the future of weather, climate, hydrological and environmental observations. Among the presentations standing out across the four-day program are a session on real-time river discharge monitoring using LSPIV in a Pacific-draining basin in Peru, a redefinition of the World Radiometric Reference based on SI traceability, and a look at the growing challenge of radio-frequency interference for meteorological instruments.
Other highlights will be a session on the need for global third-party validation of new observation technology, and a presentation on partnering with the shipping industry to scale up global ocean observations through a network of 10,000 ships.
Product launches and exhibitor highlights

Kipp & Zonen will use the show to reaffirm its commitment to precise, traceable and enduring measurement, centered on its WS weather station portfolio. Engineered for long-term deployments, the stations are designed to conform to WMO CIMO performance requirements and rest on SI-traceable calibration, with integrated self-diagnostics intended to make measurement degradation visible rather than assumed.

Elsewhere, Thies Clima will present its WSC Agrar station, designed to bridge the gap between data from high-precision reference stations and actual conditions in a crop field. Built on a platform with more than 60,000 systems deployed worldwide, the compact station measures wind, temperature, humidity, air pressure, solar radiation and precipitation without any moving mechanical components.
LCJ Capteurs, a French manufacturer of ultrasonic wind sensors since 1999, will exhibit its anemometer range, which the company says has been used in more than 50,000 installations worldwide across applications including precision agriculture, wind power, public safety and maritime use.

Hypermeteo will showcase its satellite-based nowcasting solution for solar radiation forecasting, which runs on the HPC6 supercomputing infrastructure at European scale and is designed to deliver updates every 15 minutes using third-generation Meteosat satellite data combined with AI and deep-learning techniques.

Also exhibiting, Kisters will demonstrate its integrated environmental monitoring technology, covering the management of hydromet data from field sensors through to operational decision platform, with real-time monitoring and automated quality control aimed at meteorological agencies, utilities and water authorities.
