The China Meteorological Administration is providing its services to help prevent and control the outbreak of coronavirus.

A group has been set up to support epidemic prevention and control, formulate a work plan, strengthen communication and roll out reports for epidemic prevention and control teams, and relevant departments.

The National Early Warning Information Dissemination System has been employed, which is capable of reaching communities and rural areas to release information.

The early warning system and other localities are using multiple channels such as rural loudspeakers, SMS and the media to spread emergency messages, early warning information and scientific knowledge.

Meteorological departments in Jiangxi are using more than 3,600 loudspeakers and electronic displays to broadcast epidemic prevention and control information.

Tianjin Public Emergency Early Warning Information Release Center, which is under the Tianjin Municipal Meteorological Service, has joined forces with Tianjin Health Commission to open up a ‘green channel’ for early warning information.

The meteorological department of Guangdong has used loudspeakers to broadcast epidemic-related information more than 20,000 times, releasing more than 370 pieces of information through Microblog and 104 pieces by WeChat.

In the epidemic center of Hubei Province, a six-element automatic weather station was constructed by the local meteorological service on January 25, located near Huoshenshan Hospital in Wuhan.
